General Doors Advantage Carriage House
The Advantage Carriage House door is a 3-panel design that allows this model to have larger windows, which really makes this door stand out in a good way when you see it in person or when you pass a house with these doors. Like General door's other steel garage doors, this series has plenty of quality features and low maintenance. The pre-finished, rust-proof galvanized steel on this door has a deep wood grain and a beaded-panel design with an exclusive center bead in the door that enhances the swing door look.
Design of the Advantage Garage Door
The finely detailed wood-grain surface has deeply embossed panels that give a sharp, well-defined woodgrain appearance to this garage door. A unique center bead in the door pannel creates an authentic old-time swinging door look. Here is a section of the door that shows the beaded channel:
Construction of the Advantage Door
- Sandwich-type construction with 1-3/8’’ polystyrene foam insulation, pressure bonded between two skins of 26 gauge hot-dipped galvanized steel
- Three layer construction provides a calculated insulation value of R-6.7, along with exceptional strength and substantial, solid feel during operation
- Double tongue and groove joint for the tightest section fit possible
- Thermal break between steel skins to prevent excess energy loss
- Heavy duty hardware and commercial grade 14 gauge full leaf hinges are standard
Garage Door Finish
General Doors per-paints both sides of the garage door with a primer, and finishes the door with a top coat of baked on polyester for an exterior paint thickness of 1.0 mil. The available colors are Arctic White, Almond, and Sandtone:
